Sports Fans can pay faster with MasterCard PayPass

Published on May 23, 2007 6:55 PM EST

If you are tired of missing action at a sports even because of waiting for your change at a concession stand, consider using MasterCard PayPass. Football and Baseball Stadiums nationwide are starting to accept MasterCard PayPass, including certain National Hockey League (NHL) and National Basketball Association (NBA) events.

Fans can pay for snacks at concession stands using MasterCard PayPass. American Airlines Center, United Center and XCel Energy Center will accept PayPass at in-stadium concession stands.

To pay for your snack, tap your PayPass-enabled card or device on specially-equipped terminals. No signature or PIN is required for purchases under $25.

How does it work? MasterCard PayPass uses radio frequency technology to transmit payment details wirelessly between the PayPass device and the merchant's terminal. This device is available also in a key chain format.
