Applying For a Credit Card Online

If you decide to apply for a credit card online, the process is often faster than through the traditional paper method. Many credit card issuers allow you to fill out an online application and transmit it through a secure connection to their credit department.

At the time this article was published, Orchard BankŪ was offering a rush processing option allowing consumers to receive a new card in 3 days.

After your application is submitted, the issuer usually takes some time to review your application. Not always, though. Several credit cards give you instant response online, depending on whether or not the credit card issuer is able to access your credit history file.

Once your application is reviewed, you get a response to let you know whether you have been approved. If you get approved, you receive the new credit card in the mail. If you do not get approved, you can call up the credit card company any find out why. You should also request your credit report to make sure that it contains no mistakes.
